Flechette Rounds During the Vietnam War the U.S. Military issued 90 and 105mm antipersonnel rounds packed with tiny darts to tank and tank destroyer crews. Upon firing, the so-called “flechette”

Throughout time these have been used to take out snipers hidden in trees. Flechette rounds are different. They're full of nasty, tiny spikes which pierce the insides of the target (creating holes through skin, muscle, lungs, heart, vital organs, etc.) and pass through Flechette rounds largely serve the same purpose as buckshot, albeit with a tighter spread and penetration capabilities at the cost of damage. This has the potential to greatly improve a shotgun's 1SK range, or hinder it if the shotgun is more reliant on damage up close for a kill. We shoot a few shells full of flechettes.

For these 12 gauge rounds, approximately 30-50 of these Flechettes are packed into each shell, creating damage and devastation on impact! 12/70 Flechette. 12/70 shell loaded with razor-sharp flechettes for 12ga shotguns. It never was that effective as even small buckshot, but trust me, it's better not to be shot with this.
